Instructional Design Work
01
Designing for Active Learning
I have helped faculty implement active learning in their classroom for all course modalities. This project is an effort by me to help faculty be more inclusive of all students' needs and implement engagement strategies instead of traditional lecture sessions. Please see the PDF of the repository with additional links.
02
Constructive Alignment
Constructive Alignment is the core of any course design or course redesign. This project demonstrates how I make sure the student learning outcomes, assessments, and learning activities are properly aligned on the excel sheet or on Bloom's Taxonomy Table.
03
Teacher Education Program
For this program, I was involved in:
-
Co-designing curriculum for the Teaching and Learning with Technology course.
-
Creating and developing strategies for Active Learning in Teacher Education.
04
Instructional Design for the MBA Program
I have worked to design courses for an MBA program during my professional experience. I have helped Program Directors and faculty build curricula and design online courses. The curriculum was built on a framework using learning and motivational theories like Experiential Learning and Gamification.
05
Curriculog Implementation- Curriculum Management
I have been the Project Lead to help design and implement the curriculum management software-curriculog to ease the curriculum approval process. I have designed and developed multiple workflows in curriculog to accustom to the processes at all levels from course level, program level, department level, and insitutional level.
06
Assessment and Closing the Loop
Assessment is the core of every course that provides us with evidence of student learning. Every course needs a review after it is taught. I work with faculty at the end of their courses to learn about their experiences and understand the evidence of student learning. I try to look at formative and summative assessments and learning analytics data from the technology tools available. I work with faculty to improve the courses for the next term using the learning data. Some examples include: updating the questions of assessment that involve higher levels of bloom's taxonomy, adding pre-requisites, updating course outcomes, and more.
08
Agile Methodology in Instructional Design
I follow the agile instructional design project management approach for all my projects. This project emphasizes the importance of Agile Methodologies in Instructional Design and Development. It discusses the pitfalls of the traditional ADDIE Model in the instructional design process and recommends use of iterative and agile models like SAMR.
07
Integration of Technology (Educational Technology Training)
I help faculty integrate technology into their teaching. I do so by not just showing how to use the technology but rather demonstrating the pedagogical reasoning behind the tool, providing samples directly related to their course content, and then doing a hands-on parallel play on how to use the tool itself in step-by-step proceudres.
